Minister Charlie Reep

OUR LEADERS

Teacher-in-Training Charlie Reep (they/them) is an LGBTQ Christian and a teacher-in-training with Sanctuary International Fellowship Tabernacle (SIFT). After discovering that they were asexual, aromantic, and agender as an adult - a seven-year coming out process - they left their conservative Evangelical upbringing in search of an inclusive, fully-affirming church. Sanctuary provided the sense of community, spiritual diversity, and leadership opportunities that Charlie desperately needed.

Since 2021, Charlie has been assisting the Sanctuary leadership team by creating graphics, organizing information, merchandising, and finding ways to streamline communication through enhanced use of technology. They've had the honor of preaching sermons at Sanctuary and contributing to conversations on the Kingdom Now podcast. Now, Charlie is involved in the creation of Sanctuary's official adult Sunday School program, one that will be used in Sanctuary communities worldwide. Because the deconstruction process tends to be a lonely journey, Charlie began writing about it online. Little did they know that their blog, Beloved Not Broken, would resonate with so many people from all walks of life, especially LGBTQ Christians. This experience inspired Charlie to dive head-first into ministry and enroll in seminary at Apostolic University.

Their hope is to help folks in the LGBTQ community, regardless of faith background, experience the unconditional love of God by being included in safe Christian spaces.
